"Unlocking New Potential! Andamans Survey Clears the Path for Oil Exploration in India.

According to the information provided, India has completed data collection for an exhaustive survey of the Andaman offshore area. The survey, conducted in the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ), involved the acquisition of over 22,000 line kilometers of two-dimensional (2D) data. The survey was supported by the Directorate General of Hydrocarbons (DGH).

The government of India has implemented measures to facilitate exploration in the Andaman region. Previously restricted areas have been opened up for exploration, and the government has encouraged foreign players to invest in the area. Hardeep Singh Puri, the Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, stated that changes were made to allow exploration in sedimentary basins that were previously inaccessible due to concerns from organizations like the Coast Guard and DRDO (Defence Research and Development Organization).

These developments indicate that India is actively pursuing exploration activities in the Andaman offshore area, leveraging the collected data to attract investment and potentially tap into the region's hydrocarbon resources.
